Fake fire selector pieces made and fitted .
The list of stuff to do is getting shorter ,i need to make up a better fake bolt ,cut down and fit the genuine cocking handles , sort out the plugs on the stock interface, make space for the batterys in the stock ,fit trigger switches , fit a few locking grub screws for the barrel and shroud and finally slop some paint on and they are done .

I got the first stock deans plug connection finished today ,I had to add a small piece to the design to help align the plugs but it works well and looks nice and tidy .
After that I almost had a panic attack because I had to drill the hole through the stock to take the wires through and it had to go within 3mm of the surface of the wood at one point ! What's more I had to do it in two directions and meet in the middle because the longest drill bit I have was only just over half the length I needed, add to that that I had to hold the stock by hand under the pillar drill because its so long I couldent use a vice to hold it as the bed is too high ! It worked but my heart was in my mouth ,those stocks were hard to find and not cheap.

Both stocks now drilled through and the plugs fitted ,I also finished the trigger switch and linkage on the first gun ,it took way more thinking and fiddling around to get the micro switches to fit but its done and I'm happy with it .

I'm afraid that's classified ,I could tell you but then I'd have to employ you ,sorry .

Super happy the first one fired today to a pull of the trigger with a battery plugged into the stock ! Both now have working trigger linkages but only one is wired up .

Both now have fully functioning triggers ,this means that all that's left to do is bore out the stocks for battery space ,make fake bolts and fit the genuine cocking handles then slap on some paint , i tell you what holding them now they give you that belligerent feeling ,very purposeful and weighty compared to the mk2 . anyway here's some more pictures of the trigger system.
I should add that after the pictures were taken all bare wiring was coated in liquid electrical tape ,its a paint on insulation and good where funny angles mean heat shrink is hard to use .

Nice work. The trigger contacts look like they'll be a lot more effective than the stock sten contacts.

Love the way you did the microswitch
Its a 15 amp micro switch ,exactly the same spec as one used on an A+K M249 ,should be man enough for the job ,these are planned to be used with a 7.2v lipo so won't draw that much current ,I'd also mention that although the connecting rod looks thin its only pulling on a micro switch ,the trigger has its own return spring to give it a nice feel .

The first stock is bored out for a battery ,there's space for a standard small 8.4v nicad or 7.2v lipo pack ,space for the wiring is limited so the battery will need a short set of leads and plug but that's no problem.

Battery's and plugs arrived today ,so the stocks are fitted with deans plugs ,I had to take about 2 inches off the battery wires but it all fits snugly in place ,the battery's are 7.4v 2200mah 35c lipo's ,I use exactly the same one in my mp40 and its never gone flat during a whole day of use .
That just leaves the fake bolts and cocking handles to do tommorow ,paint on Sunday ..... Chris is hoping to take them during the week so let's hope it all goes to plan

I kind of wish I was making one for me now , anyway one is going overseas and Chris has the chance to hand deliver it so I've focused on finishing that one ,as usual at this stage there's a host of little bits that I was going to do later like cutting new screws to length ,re profiling the heads of scews to look more 1940's ,welding on the rear site band ,fitting grub screws etc , so one has been built up to final standard ,tested ,stripped again and is now in paint !
